CAS Colours & Sketches - Challenge # 224

I hope you enjoyed my challenge last week. This week it's the turn of Emily to host, and being the third Tuesday of the month, it means that it's time for a sketch challenge.

Here's what Emily has for us.

Don't forget you can rotate or flip the sketch, but I decided to leave it as is.  This is what I have made using the Floral Phrases and Crazy About You stamp sets.

Birthday Wishes Challenge and the Ronald McDonald House Charities

This year, Stampin' Up! are celebrating their 10th Year in Europe. To celebrate this, Stampin' Up! UK have challenged UK demonstrators to make 10,000 cards over two weekends. All of these cards will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities here in the UK.

For those of you not aware of this, Stampin' Up! have been proud to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) since 2003. Since then, each Annual Catalogue has a specially designed stamp set and part of the proceeds from each stamp set is donated to the charity.

Ronald McDonald House Charities provides free 'home away from home' accommodation to families while their child is in hospital. There are 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK, all located close to specialist children's hospitals. The Houses are open 365 days a year and are equipped with everything you would find in a family home. Families can get a good night's sleep, prepare their own meals and feel at home, knowing that they're only moments away from their child.

Last year the UK held a Christmas Card challenge, and the event I held donated 535 cards out of the just over 3600 made.

So, how can you help?

CAS Colours & Sketches - Challenge #223

This week it's my turn to host the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. Being the third Tuesday of the month means that it's time for a colour one. Here's what I chose for you to try.

I thought long and hard about what stamp set to use, and after a lot of deliberation this is what I came up. The stamp set is called Eastern Beauty and there are a whole suite of products that are designed to co-ordinate with it (including some very luxurious designer series paper). Having said that, I wanted to show just how versatile the set is in other colours.

The stamp set is photopolymer which means that it is very easy to use the smaller stamps to fill in spaces on the larger images.

Here's another card made using the same colours but using some of the other images in the stamp set.

Don't forget to check out the designs from the others and of course take part in the challenge. I would love to see what you come up. You can add your link on the CAS Colours & Sketches blog using the button provided at the bottom of the post.

Going, Going, Gone

I tend to hold my regular monthly classes on the second weekend of the month and this past weekend was no different.

The theme for this month's class was Going, Going, Gone so the whole class was based around some of my favourite stamp sets, designer series paper and other items that are retiring at the end of this month. There were a few items that are not retiring such as the ink pads and also the embossing folder that we used.

Here are a couple of the cards that I designed for the class.
